Faster maps, lighter pages

A bunch of behind-the-scenes work to make the site feel faster, especially on mobile and slower connections. No visual changes. Pages just load quicker.

Maps render quicker. Upgraded to Mapbox GL JS v3 and added preconnect hints so the browser starts the handshake to the map tiles before the page even finishes loading. You'll feel the difference on the dashboard, the Today page, and anywhere else the map appears.

Pages load lighter. Switched to variable fonts with Latin-only subsets, then preloaded just what's visible above the fold. Significantly fewer bytes on every page across the site.
